What a wonderful presentation our second, third, and fifth graders experienced on Monday morning! Thanks to a generous grant from Atlantic Dance Theatre, two members of the Carolina Ballet came into our Performing Arts Center to talk about the life of a professional dancer and demonstrate the basics of ballet (warm-ups, work at the barre, costumes, exercise and healthy lifestyles, and performances). We were then treated to a beautiful performance and a question and answer session - our students ask the BEST questions. At the end of the presentation, all of the students were invited onstage to learn a short dance. Thank you to dancers Laurel Dorn and Luke Potgeiter, and manager Eleanor Zywicki. Look for more great pictures in the Friday Flyer!

We are SO proud of Epiphany 11th grader Zabby Memering. She excelled at set design during last year's ITS Festival and decided to take her ideas to a local stage. Zabby has dedicated a lot of time to several sets at New Bern Civic Theatre this summer. Because of her skills, creativity and hard work, Zabby was asked to design the set for NBCT's upcoming show, "Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play." She has worked so hard, and the stage looks amazing! We can't wait to see what she does next.

What a memorable day for the music department at Epiphany! Our middle school band students learned how to build their instruments and played their first few measures of music together. We have a flute, three clarinets, three saxophones, two trombones and two trumpets. Special thanks to Mrs. Rosney for her care and patience as our eager students learned how to properly put their instruments together.

Concert Band is coming to Epiphany this year! How exciting for the arts! Mrs. Rosney invited representatives from Fuller's to bring a sampling of instruments to the school so prospective students could determine which one they'd like to learn to play. We have a lot of interest, and Mrs. Rosney is excited to get started on this new endeavor.

Will it be brass? Woodwind? Students were able to practice on the different types of mouthpieces before picking their instrument.
Trumpet looks like a good fit!
Mrs. Rosney is just as excited as the students.
We had a room full of parents and students! We can't wait to set the stage with our new traditional concert band.

We are so grateful for all of the families, students, and staff members who came out to support our visual arts students Friday night at the O.Marks Building. It was a beautiful evening in downtown New Bern. Hundreds of visitors funneled through the lobby to see the wonderful paintings, baskets, and sculptures created by Epiphany students from kindergarten through twelfth grades. We even had a little butterfly visit the butterfly display! Congratulations again to second-grader Sawganyaw, whose artwork was featured on the cover of the ArtWalk map this month. Special thanks to our creative art teachers - Sra. Liss, Ms. Larick, and Mrs. Tomboulian. We also want to thank Steve and Sabrina Bengel for allowing us to once again install our exhibit in the lobby of the beautiful O.Marks building. If you missed it, the art from our Lower School students will remain on display until Monday afternoon.

There was a ZOO in Founders Hall this morning! It was full of first-grade pandas, peacocks, monkeys, fish, and zookeepers (of course). Their musical, "Panda and the Moon," was so entertaining! What incredible singers and actors we have. Thank you to Sr. Delima for everything you teach our students.
