The Office of Learning Services of The Epiphany School of Global Studies commits to helping students in grades K-12 achieve learning gains, develop confidence in their abilities, and prepare for success inside and outside the classroom walls. Various learning supports and tutoring opportunities are available to students, at any grade-level, during their academic careers.

A team of professionals, which includes the Office of Learning Services, the student, his or her parents, teachers, divisional director, and possible tutor, work together and openly communicate the needs, goals, and strategies beneficial to the student’s learning. With proper documentation (medical or psychological educational evaluation), a plan of accommodations designed to support the student’s unique learning needs will be prepared and implemented. In grades K-5, specific and tailored math and reading support is available for eligible students from a certified learning services teacher. In grades 6-12, individual student support and subject-specific tutoring are available to help build upon classroom instruction and strengthen Executive Functioning skills (planning, time management, and organization).

We are committed to preparing students for success by helping them cultivate a sense of capability, determination, resilience, self-advocacy, and a love of learning!

If a student is diagnosed with a learning difference or other health impairment and is identified through a recent (within the last three years) psycho-educational evaluation by a licensed Clinical Psychologist or healthcare provider, Epiphany will make reasonable accommodations for the student in the form of individualized support and the creation of an Academic Support Plan.  The purpose of the Academic Support Plan is to support the student in the absence of academic modifications.

In some instances, students may benefit from the support services provided by the county's school system.  Click the link to access Craven County Schools - Academic Services for Non-Public Schools and Jones County Schools-Academic Services for Non-Public Schools

Mission of the Epiphany Learning Center:

Support and strengthen the academic experience for all Epiphany students

The Epiphany Learning Center, located on the Trent Campus, features a multi-purpose learning environment housing tutoring and mentoring services for Epiphany students.  The Learning Center provides multi-purpose seating options (individual and collaborative) and appointment based subject specific one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions.

Peer and adult tutors will guide each student to develop a fuller understanding of classroom concepts, study skills, and executive processing skills to help master challenging subjects.

Tutors and mentors are trained to work with learners of differing abilities. They coordinate frequently with Epiphany teachers, the Learning Services department, and parents to assess strengths and weaknesses for each student's unique learning style.  Peer tutors are often members of one or more of the honor society organizations offered at Epiphany.

The Epiphany Learning Center services are available to students during and after school: 30, 45, and 60-minute time slots are available and can be customized to meet the needs and schedule of the student(s) and family.  Both short and long term tutoring is available.  Learning Center fees are billed monthly to participating families.
