Uncovering Gifts for the Journey

path

At Epiphany, we believe that every aspect of student experience impacts the educational value of our school. Therefore, we’ve carefully crafted the educational experience so that students have the ability and freedom to learn and gain valuable life experiences both in and out of the classroom.

We are providing students with the resources and environment necessary for them to write their own stories, carve their own paths, foster their own interests and discover their own passions.

Teaching for Today's Learners

Jerry

Our academic program was designed to ensure that our students continue to enjoy learning. Vibrant, adaptable classrooms help students of all learning styles get the most out of their coursework and make deeper connections to the material and the real world.

Our experienced faculty and administrative staff work closely with students to facilitate their connections with the learning material and with their peers. More than 60% of our faculty hold advanced degrees, and we consistently look for opportunities for our staff to continue their education and gain even more valuable experience.

Students enjoy all of the technological advantages of a modern classroom. We connect students with resources around the world to give them the most up-to-date information. Teachers integrate technology into their daily activities to help students find interactive ways to connect concepts and work closely with their peers.

The education doesn’t stop when class is over. Educating today’s learners also means providing experiences outside of the classroom. We have visited more than 33 countries, and nearly 100% of our graduates have traveled abroad or participated in service opportunities well outside of the New Bern or Eastern NC communities.

Our Curriculum Design

From the very beginning, The Epiphany School of Global Studies set out to be a school that prepares our students for life in the 21st century, emphasizing many key skills like . . .

  • creativity

  • curiosity

  • adaptability

  • critical thinking

And while our STEM initiatives often make our graduates appealing to colleges and universities across the country, we materially emphasize  communication—reading, writing, and rhetoric—with deep and meaningful exposure to the humanities. Most importantly, however, we have wanted to ensure that our students would grow in their understanding of what it means to Love God and Your Neighbor as Yourself. We understand  that academics—in isolation—means  little without our Core Values of respect, responsibility, integrity, and service, all of which our curriculum reflects.

We see all of these areas as essential to the development of well-rounded students, and a clear pathway enables greater success in college and beyond.

Our Curriculum Partners

There are two modes of thought when it comes to designing a curriculum. One option is to create the curriculum, in its entirety, from scratch: the second option is to partner with experts or organizations in various fields and implement research-tested programs with long histories of success.

At The Epiphany School of Global Studies, we have chosen to do the latter. The following list includes the numerous academic partners with whom the school works and links to learn more about the programs.
